The most affordable services at GroomRoom at a glance

Not every dog needs a full groom with a haircut at every visit. A smaller service is often enough, and that's where you'll find our most affordable prices.

Junior Grooming: fixed price for small dogs

Junior Grooming is our most affordable full groom for small dogs. Our Junior Groomer works under the supervision of an experienced colleague and deliberately takes plenty of time. Because she is still gaining experience, the price is lower than our standard full grooming. This isn't a special offer, but a fixed, permanent price.

• Under 5 kg: 60 € fixed price.
• 5 to 10 kg: 75 € fixed price.
• Appointments: Wednesdays and Saturdays from 16 to 19.

Dog grooming Berlin: five honest ways to lower your costs

The biggest price differences come down to the time we spend working on your dog. With these five steps, you can keep appointments short and costs low.

1. Keep a regular schedule: Poodles, Doodles, Bichons and Malteses are best groomed every six to eight weeks, so their coats rarely get matted.
2. Brush down to the skin at home: This prevents knots from forming in the undercoat, the soft layer beneath the topcoat.
3. Choose the right service: Between two Full Grooming appointments, a Mini Grooming or the 4-in-1 combo package is often enough.
4. Use Junior Grooming for small dogs: Up to ten kilos, you pay a fixed price with no surprises.
5. Cancel appointments in good time: For cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice, we charge 70 percent of the price.

Why dematting increases your dog grooming price the most

Dematting starts at 15 € for every 15 minutes started. That might not sound like much, but it quickly adds up if the coat is matted in many places. We gently untangle every matted strand by hand so the skin underneath isn't irritated. For very severe matting, we often recommend a short clip, as it is gentler for the dog and cheaper for you.

We only offer clipping for breeds whose coats allow it, such as Poodles, Doodles, Bichons or Malteses. We do not clip breeds with an undercoat like Spitzes, Pomeranians or Golden Retrievers; instead, we demat them by hand. An example from our dog grooming salon in Berlin: A Pomeranian after six months without a visit costs 165 to 180 € including dematting and surcharges. With regular grooming, the same dog costs significantly less.

What to look out for with very cheap dog grooming offers

A low price can be great, as long as the groomer still takes their time and works carefully. That's why you should ask a few questions before your first appointment, rather than just comparing prices.

• What's included in the price? Bathing, blow-drying, nail clipping and ear cleaning should be clearly listed.
• When is the final price set? A trustworthy salon will give you a binding price before the appointment.
• How much time is scheduled? Dogs need a calm environment and breaks, especially during their first visit.
