Affordable dog groomer Berlin: Prices, packages and saving tips

You'll find an affordable dog groomer in Berlin here at GroomRoom from 15 € for single services like nail clipping. The mini groom with washing, drying and combing starts at 59 € and takes 60 to 180 minutes depending on size and coat. Dogs up to ten kilos get Junior Grooming at a fixed price of 60 € or 75 €. Grooming stays permanently affordable with a regular schedule, as a well-maintained coat means short appointments without dematting surcharges.

What does affordable mean at the dog groomer?

Affordable means the price is fixed before the appointment and stays the same on collection. A low starting price means little if no one has discussed coat condition and duration. We first give you the starting price and, after a quick assessment, the binding final price. This assessment is free and available on weekdays without an appointment in the salon. Which services cost the least?

Individual services are the most affordable, starting from 15 €, as they only involve a single grooming step. This is often all you need between two main appointments: short nails, clear paw pads, clean eyes.

Thinning means we use serrated scissors to thin out the coat without changing the length too much. You can find the individual steps and prices on our Individual Services page.

What does a dog groomer do during an appointment?

A dog groomer bathes, dries and brushes your dog, trims the coat and takes care of the nails, eyes, paws, ears and hygiene area. The Full Groom from 79 € includes all these steps, plus a breed-standard cut or clip. The time needed depends on size and coat: up to 2 kg we schedule 60 minutes, up to 15 kg 120 minutes, up to 18 kg 150 minutes, and anything above that 180 minutes. The Mini Groom without a cut also takes between 60 and 180 minutes, depending on size and coat. Wire-haired breeds like Schnauzers, Terriers and Wirehaired Dachshunds get hand-stripping from 70 € per hour, where the dead topcoat is plucked rather than cut.

Junior Grooming at a fixed price for small dogs

Junior Grooming is our most affordable package offering a complete groom for dogs up to ten kilos. Our Junior Groomer works under the supervision of an experienced colleague and deliberately schedules more time. Because she is still gaining experience, the price is lower than a Full Groom, and it is fixed.

• Under 5 kg: 60 € as a fixed price.
• 5 to 10 kg: 75 € as a fixed price.
• Appointments: Wednesday and Saturday, 16:00 to 19:00.

How do you really save money at the dog groomer?

The price is mainly determined by the time we spend working on your dog. Keep your appointments short with these five steps.

1. Keep a regular schedule: Poodles, Doodles, Bichons, Malteses, Yorkshires and Shih Tzus are best groomed every six to eight weeks.
2. Brush down to the skin at home: This prevents knots from forming in the undercoat, the fine layer beneath the topcoat.
3. Choose the right service: Between two Full Grooms, a Mini Groom or the 4-in-1 combo package is often enough.
4. Use Junior Grooming for small dogs: You pay a fixed price for dogs up to ten kilos.
5. Cancel appointments in good time: If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, we will invoice you for 70 percent of the price.

Short-haired dogs visit less often, every eight to twelve weeks, Pomeranians and Spitzes every six to ten weeks if brushed at home.

Why does dematting increase the price the most?

Dematting is charged by time and costs from 15 € per 15 minutes started, plus the longer working time on the dog. Light knots are included in the grooming price, but we untangle heavily matted areas strand by strand by hand. If the matting is very severe, we often recommend a short clip, as it is gentler on the dog and takes less time.

We only offer clipping for breeds whose coat allows it, for example Poodles, Doodles, Bichons, Malteses or Yorkshires. We do not clip breeds with an undercoat like Spitzes, Pomeranians, Huskies or Golden Retrievers; instead, we demat them by hand. For Pomeranians, there is a surcharge of 20 € for the Mini Groom (already included in the Spitz/Pom Full Groom package), because the double coat takes more time.

What to look out for with very cheap offers

A low price only makes sense if the time, calm environment and grooming products are still right. Ask about these four points before your first appointment.

• What is included in the price? Bathing, blow-drying, nails, eyes, paws and ears should be clearly stated.
• When is the final price fixed? A binding price before work begins is what you can rely on.
• How much time is scheduled? A dog needs breaks, especially on their first visit.

Payment on collection, no advance payment

You only pay when you collect your freshly groomed dog. We accept cash, debit card, credit card, Apple Pay and Google Pay. There is no deposit when booking, and no instalment payments. The same fixed starting prices apply to all customers.
